The Midway Virtual School instructional delivery method is an asynchronous model with synchronous meetings scheduled by the teacher.
MVS students will engage in a minimum of 240 minutes of instruction daily.
The MVS Elementary Model provides;- Daily interaction with the MVS teacher in whole and small group synchronous reading and math lessons
- Instructional content presented through asynchronous lessons in the SeeSaw or Schoology
- Daily schedules for each grade level are linked here.
- Daily progress will be monitored by the MVS teacher
The MVS Secondary Model provides;- Grade-level and graduation required curriculum made available through Edgenuity
- A weekly meeting with the secondary teacher for personalized goal setting and progress monitoring of classes (Intervention is provided as needed for each student)
- Required daily course progress based on the student goals set by the student and teacher
Student AttendanceAttendance in the virtual school will be taken daily during regular school hours. Elementary Students will engage between 7:40 am - 3:10 pm Secondary Students will engage between 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Daily engagement will be recorded based on one of the following criteria:- Daily progress in the Learning Management System (SeeSaw, Schoology, Edgenuity)
- A daily check-in with the teacher during synchronous meeting times (required)
- Completion of assignments from student to teacher
