Volunteering at ScotJam is an amazing opportunity to be part of something special. You’ll get to work with a fantastic team, meet awesome people from across Scotland, and contribute to unforgettable experiences.
There are a range of different volunteering opportunities available before and during the event - see Adult Volunteer Roles for more information. All Adult Volunteers are required to agree to and follow our Code of Conduct.
We welcome applications from anyone holding an adult role and is currently active in Scouting. All adult volunteers must meet the requirements outlined below.
If you’d like to join the Adult Volunteer Team, please complete the application form below.
Once your application has been submitted the team at Scouts Scotland will review it to ensure that you meet the requirements below, we will then determine the best role within our team for you. If you’re new to the ScotJam Volunteer Team we may arrange to have a ‘Welcome Conversation’ with you prior to confirming your role within the team. We will respond to all applications as soon as possible.
All successful volunteers will be invited to our Adult Volunteer Team Weekend, which takes place at Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th May 2025. We strongly encourage all successful volunteers to attend, as we use this weekend for learning and preparation.
To be part of the ScotJam Adult Volunteer Team you must:
Be 18 years old or over by the start of the event.
Be an active member of The Scout Association with an adult role.
Have a valid disclosure (PVG) secured through Scouting
Meet the adult appointment conditions below.
Holding an adult role - conditions
Prior to the start of the event, all volunteers must have completed:
Welcome Process - including welcome conversation, disclosure and references.
Safety and Safeguarding - and it is recorded on the membership system.
Additionally if you’ve held any adult appointment for more than 6 months you must have:
Completed the remaining Growing Roots learning for your role - and be recorded on the membership system.
Kept your Safety, Safeguarding and First Aid (if appropriate for your role) in date (and still be in date on the last day of the event).
The Volunteer Fees for ScotJam are as follows. This fee covers volunteer food and accommodation.
Beavers Weekend: £40 / Overnight: £15
Cubs £ 45.00
Scouts £ 55.00
Explorers £ 55.00
