Intensive Interaction is a relational approach used to support connection and communication with children and young people with a range of additional support needs particularly autism and communication needs. It emphasizes building attuned relationships through meaningful and motivating connections, developing joint attention, turn-taking and strengthening communication. The approach is flexible and can be used in various settings and environments.
