Description:
Open to all new HTs/ acting HTs and any HT who would like a refresh of the QI process.
This session will outline the approach to school quality improvement in Midlothian. We will outline the key points in the year (eg QI visit 1, 2 & 3 and SQIP/PEF plan) and the support available.

Our preparing for HMI inspection sessions received very good evaluation from participants during 2022-23. You can book a bespoke session in your school/ setting where a QIO/QIM will support you and your team's preparation for inspection.

How to write a Summary Self Evaluation (SSE) for HMI inspection
Description:
Following our successful preparing for HMI inspection sessions during 2022-23, school leaders requested focused workshop support for writing a Summary Self Evaluation for HMI inspection. This will either be a bespoke workshop in your school/ setting for HTs/DHTs to work together to write their school's SSE or a combined session where school leaders from different schools/ settings can work together to write their SSEs.
Workshop aims:
Pre-reading and task (start writing a small section of your SSE)
Understandf how to use evaluative language when writing a SSE
Using quantifiable language in your SSE
Using triangulated data within your SSE
Keeping your SSE focused on what the HMI inspection team need to know.
