What will I Learn?

• The course consists of two units of study designed to give you an understanding of the Scottish Legal system and how it functions in modern society.

What skills with I develop?

• Core Skills of Communication, Working with Others and Problem Solving.

• Critical Thinking, Planning and Organising and Reviewing and Evaluating.

What could be helpful?

• You should have achieved an A-C in National 5 History, Modern Studies or Geography and English.

• An A-C in Higher Modern Studies would be beneficial but is not essential.
  
  
  

Is there an Exam?

• There is no formal exam for this course. 

• Assessment will be ongoing throughout the delivery of the units of work and will be a combination of theoretical and practical activities designed to assess your knowledge and understanding of the course content.
  
  

What comes next?

• The NPA in Legal Studies has been developed with the purpose of providing candidates with the basic legal skills and knowledge required for further study and/or employment where a basic understanding of the law may enhance career prospects..
  
  

Where can this take me?

• This qualification can assist in applications for further study of the Law at either College or University.

• This qualification may assist with applications for entry level jobs in the Legal Profession.
