What will I Learn?

• Understand how to use numeracy, measurements, statistical and financial knowledge  to inform solutions and decision making

• Use mathematical ideas and number processes in different contexts 

• Interpret the results of calculations, measurements and data to make informed decisions 

• Communicate mathematical information in an appropriate way

Is there is an Exam?

• The course is assessed by three unit assessments: 

  • Numeracy

  • Managing Finance & Statistics

  • Geometry & Measure 

• There is also a final assessment, which is marked in school.  This consistest of two sections a non-calculator and a calculator paper 

What comes next?

• Progression to National 5 Applications of Mathematics 

• Progression to a College course or a workplace apprenticeship

Is there is an Exam?

• There is an Exam that consists of two papers. 

  • Paper 1: Non-calculator - 55minutes

  • Paper 2: Calculator - 1hour 20minutes

What could be helpful?

Is there is an Exam?

• There is a final exam which counts towards 73% of your grade.  The exam is a single paper which is a mixture of computer based and paper based questions.

• The remaining 27% is based on a statistics project report completed during the course.

• Any subsequent courses would be University/College level.
