What will I Learn?
This course is designed to enable you to develop basic knowledge, understanding and technical skills required for the role of a barista. The course covers how to operate specialist equipment to prepare and serve coffee and a variety of other drinks.
What skills will I develop?
Problem solving skills
Critical thinking - This will involve operating specialist equipment, matching service requirements & suitable accompaniment to each type of beverage, identifying and rectifying common problems, having an awareness of allergens & appropriate substitutes and demonstrating safe and hygienic working practices.
What could be helpful?
If you have an interest in developing basic knowledge of barista skills but no previous experience is required.
A willingness to work as part of a team during the coffee services and serve coffee to the public during parents evenings.
Is there is an Exam?
No. final exam but continual assessment.
Demonstrate knowledge of coffee and other beverages served by a barista.
Prepare and serve a range of coffees and other hot beverages using specialist equipment.
Prepare and serve a range of cold beverages using specialist equipment.
