Is there is an Exam?
There is no formal assessment in S3 but your teacher will assess the work you produce throughout the year including knowledge checks. This will give you a clear idea of how you are progressing.
What comes next?
In S4, you can either take National 4 or National 5 Practical Cookery, depending on progress in S3.

Both of which involve the planning, preparation and cooking of a two course meal set by SQA.

Is there is an Exam?
Yes - 3 different aspects
Assignment – 1 ¾ Hours. Pupils to create a time plan, equipment list and service details for the specified 3 course meal.
Practical Activity - 3 course meal specified by SQA, pupils to prepare and cook 4 portions of a starter, main course and dessert within 2.5 hours all to restaurant standards.
Written Paper – 1 Hours - based on course theory topics

What will I Learn?
The Skills for Work Hospitality Course provides an introduction to the different commercial and non-commercial sectors of the hospitality industry and the types of provision they offer. You will also learn about the organisational aims of hospitality establishments and the products and services they provide.
What skills will I develop?
You will develop vocational skills and knowledge and gain practical experience in: menu planning; preparing, cooking and presenting a range of foods in a professional kitchen; serving food and drinks; undertaking reception duties and customer care; and planning, organising and running a small hospitality event.
What could be helpful?
If you have an interest in working in the Hospitality Industry.
Willingness to work as part of a team during the events.

No final exam but continual assessment throughout the following units:
