B.M. in Music Performance / M.M. in String Pedagogy

Julia Rossi started violin at the early age of 6. Since then, Julia has travelled the US to pursue knowledge and experience. Julia started her professional career by attending the Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville, South Carolina early admissions program in 2014 under the tutelage of Professor Jennifer John.


Julia’s undergraduate degree was completed under the tutelage of Professor Hal Grossman. Throughout her undergrad, Julia followed Mr. Grossman from The University of Oklahoma to The University of Louisville, and finally earned her degree at The University of Oregon in 2020. Julia has completed her training in The Grossman Method ®, a course for violinists to learn advanced techniques on the violin while incorporating a somatic understanding. Throughout her years traveling the US, she was able to earn top prizes in competitions, (Ladies Music Club Winner 2018), earn awards from the schools she attended (University of Oklahoma Frieda Derdeyn Bambas String Endowed Scholarship 2017, University of Oregon, String Area’s Outstanding Undergraduate Performers Award 2020), and performed in many symphony, chamber, and solo concerts, as well as many gigs including weddings, funerals, other gatherings, and recordings on the album Catfish by Owoso.


Julia received her Masters degree in String Pedagogy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin under the tutelage of Professor Darcy Drexler. During Julia’s time at UWM she has been able to observe and help The String Academy of Wisconsin directed by Darcy Drexler.
