My name is Akira Taylor.I am originally from Savannah, Georgia. I graduated with my B.S. in Early Childhood Education, from Georgia Southern University. My entire career has been filled with Math. I first worked as a 5th grade math and science teacher in a very small town in North Carolina. I then moved back to Savannah, Georgia where I worked with 4th and 5th grade special education students. The principal watched me teach a fractions lesson, and decided that I would teach math to the entire school. I then decided to take a break from teaching to bake, before landing right here at MAC. I’ve been the math teacher for 2 years and I am now entering my 3rd year as not only a math teacher, but now as teacher of the year and I am so honored to have been chosen by my colleagues.
