Academic Eligibility
Students must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and hours of volunteer work in both the school and the community.
The Bayshore Honor Society is an organization that recognizes outstanding academic achievement, character, and hours of volunteer work in both the school and the community.
Academic eligibility is determined by the end of the 2nd marking period of Grade 7 or Grade 8.
To become academically eligible, a student must make the honor roll 5 out of 6 marking periods in the current grade and the grade prior.
Students deemed eligible will receive an email from the Bayshore Honor Society email account. Students who do not receive an eligibility notification should not apply.
*Once a student is inducted into the Bayshore Honor Society, they do not need to re-apply in 8th grade. They are members for the remainder of their time at Bayshore.*
Service Requirements
Students are asked to demonstrate service in both school and the community. It is the student’s responsibility to log their service hours.
*Advisor signatures are required for both
School Service
Students are encouraged to be actively involved in at least one school club/sport/activity during their enrollment at Bayshore Middle School.
School service options: Active club membership, active school athlete, sports manager, drama productions/variety show involvement, stage crew assistance, and/or assisting after lunch, dance clean up (sign up required)*
Community Service
A minimum of 20 hours of documented community service or a self-created service project (which demonstrates 20 hours) are required, but does not guarantee acceptance into the Honor Society.
BHS accepts community service hours completed from 6th-8th grade. Anything completed prior to 6th grade will not be considered.
*This form will allow students to demonstrate eligibility in both school and community service.*
