Kindergarten & 1st Grade: May check out 1 book each week during library class. Each student will have the selected book in their possession until their library day the following week, when it is due back.
2nd & 3rd Grade: May check out up to 2 books each week during library class. Each student will have the selected books in their possession until their library day the following week, when it is due back.
Important Note: If a book is not returned, students will need to return it before checking out another!
If a student would like to renew a book for an extra week, he or she can put a renewal slip in the back of the book, and Ms. Malley will renew it. Renewal slips are provided in the classrooms and do not go home.
Students are welcome to put books on hold by asking Ms. Malley to place a hold for them. Students may also place a hold themselves outside the library, but they must be logged into Google so that our catalog knows who is requesting it! Our catalog computers inside the library do not have the option to log in, which is why it has to be done on a different computer.
Note: An item will likely not be immediately renewed if another student has placed a hold on it and is waiting for it.
All Dog Man and Elephant & Piggie books are not eligible for renewal due to their popularity and limited availability.
Notices will be printed every week for students that have overdue books. We ask that students bring back overdue items as soon as possible so that they can check out new materials as soon as possible!
If a student has not returned a book in over a month, Ms. Malley will contact families to find out if it is lost or damaged. Damaged and lost books must be paid for the book's full price to the Board of Education!
