Tana is enjoying her second year of TILM program at MIIS. Tana has worked as a freelance interpreter since 2018, having provided language service for a variety of clients including NDRC, CDRF, Standard Chartered, and Tsinghua University. She also worked as project coordinator in a MICE consulting agency and provided language service for CNCC II during its pre-opening stage with a focus on operations and marketing. She loves cooking, photography, and Thangka painting in her free time.
Olga Stevens, MA in CI Candidate, earned a MA in HR Management, MA and B. in Education. Olga holds a certificate in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In 2021 she became a certified medical interpreter through the NBCM. She worked as a staff interpreter/translator for a large pulp and paper company. During the 2014-2015 academic year, Olga served as a FLTA (Fulbright) at the University of New Haven. In her free time, Olga enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Awa is pursuing a Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation with French and English. She also speaks Wolof (Senegal) and has studied Spanish and German. She has previously worked in diplomacy, in the international development sector and began her career in the language industry as a freelance translator and subtitling. Awa is passionate about languages, neuroscience and technology. She also enjoys reading and drawing in her free time.
Jiaying is a Master of Arts candidate in Translation and Interpretation at MIIS. As a native Chinese speaker whose language pair is English and Chinese, she has worked as an in-house translator and interpreter in a consulting firm and volunteered in a variety of international conferences. Jiaying enjoys photography, watching all types of movies and listening to hip-hop.
Mai is pursuing a Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation at MIIS with a language pair of Japanese and English. She has been working as an interpreter and translator in the aviation and entertainment industries. She enjoys festive events coming up in the fall and the winter and decorating her house. She also loves traveling and is currently planning a family trip!
Zoe is a Master of Arts candidate in Translation and Interpretation at MIIS with Japanese and English. While studying Political Science at Keio University in Japan, she has worked as a freelance/volunteer interpreter in the field of entertainment since 2015. She previously worked as an in-house interpreter and translator for engineers in the manufacturing industry. Zoe is passionate about languages and cross-cultural communication. She also loves mountaineering, watching movies, and playing music in her free time.
Leon is pursuing his M. A. degree in Conference Interpretation at MIIS with German and English. Since 2018 Leon has worked as both an industrial in-house and an agency translator and proofreader. He has also been interpreting at various university events and conferences. In his spare time, Leon enjoys exploring, cycling, playing the guitar and spending time with friends and family.
Andrew is pursuing a Master of Arts in Conference Interpretation with English, Spanish, and German. Since 2016 he has worked as a certified interpreter in medical and legal settings across the US, and has been a guest speaker at various associations and educational institutions. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys time with loved ones, making kimchi, pretending to like CrossFit, and knitting scarves.
