BrainPop is a unique and awesome resource to creatively teach students about a variety of topics. In this section, I have linked it directly to the Art topics that are offered through BrainPop. Mid-Buchanan offers the premium version of BrainPOP to all teachers. Use your Clever account to access BrainPOP and browse through all of their amazing content!
There's a PhET for that! This resource includes a wide variety of online lab simulations and manipulatives to illustrate scientific concepts that may be difficult to replicate in the classroom or useful during distance learning. Not all simulations work perfectly on the chromebook, but many of them do. I encourage you to do a "test run" on a student chromebook prior to assigning a PhET. Another helpful hint is there are many teacher-created resources that go along with PhET modules so before you go to the trouble of creating your own resource, try searching for your specific PhET module followed by the word "resource" and see if you can find something that is already made and available to you! Below is an example of a science PhET module.
"Instagram Stories" of Labs
Have your students take pictures and document their process of going through a lab and then create an "Instagram Story" using Google Slides. Google Slides can be recorded using Screencastify when in "Present Mode" and allow for videos and pictures to easily be embedded.
