MCAN Service Opportunities

Michigan College Access Network offers multiple AmeriCorps opportunities for individuals to serve their community and improve educational equity in our state. All service opportunities include a living stipend, healthcare coverage, childcare coverage, and a post-service education award to fund further education or help pay off student loans. Members also participate in valuable professional development and networking opportunities to help launch your career.

College Completion Corps

MCAN's College Completion Corps trains and places 23 AmeriCorps members on partner college campuses across Michigan. As a Completion Coach, each full-time member serves a campus-defined cohort of 100-150 students who are first-generation, low-income, and/or students of color, with a focus on college persistence and completion.

AdviseMI places recent college graduates in selected high schools across Michigan, particularly high schools that are located in communities with low college-going rates and low adult educational attainment rates, to serve as college advisers. Serving alongside high school counselors and other school professionals, advisers support students as they make the transition from high school to postsecondary education.

AmeriCorps VISTAs

MCAN employs AmeriCorps VISTAs to support a variety of statewide college access work. Individuals interested in VISTA opportunities with MCAN should email Jenny McArdle, director of service strategy.
