Welcome to our new look newsletter. We hope you all had a fantastic summer break. We are back for another year of learning! There are a few things to make you aware of at the start of this term and we hope that this edition of our newsletter will give you all the information you need to feel that your child is in the right place this year. We are so excited for what this year will bring and are looking forward to working with you over the year.
This week we were lucky enough to have not one, but two visits from Electric Umbrella. They came in to share their stories, songs, experiences and love for life. This supports our message of No Outsiders with songs such as 'No Such Thing As Normal'. They spent time with the whole school in assemblies and ran smaller workshops as well. They spent time supporting our children to focus on what makes them special and to celebrate their individuality. A great time was had by all and I think a few staff even got teary eyed! If you get a chance, please do visit the Electric Umbrella Emporium in The Marlowes.
This year, we have introduced Class Dojo. A way of celebrating individuals and classes that are following our school rules of:
Be Kind.
Show Respect.
Aim High.
Children will be able to receive one or two points for these core values from any member of staff. We will keep an eye on which individuals, classes and house groups are being the kindest, most respectful and ambitious over the year. Below we have calculated the average points received by each House Group (this means that it is fair, even if a House Group has more children)!

SEND and Family Support
Delivering Special Provision Locally (DSPL) is a Hertfordshire-wide initiative, working to improve the range of provision and support services available for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, aged 0-25.
Dacorum DSPL (DSPL8) is one of nine areas in Hertfordshire where parents, early years settings, primary and secondary schools, further education, local authority professionals and other agencies work together to review what is available and develop provision to fill in the gaps.
DSPL8's Autumn 2024 Parent/ Carer Newsletter is now available to download from the Inclusion Page of our school website. This contains information about local or online courses, events, support groups, coffee mornings and more!
