Happy New Year! I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to what 2025 will bring. We have had a bitterly cold start to term, but it does look like we will be warming up moving forward.
We have had a fantastic start to our learning this term, picking up from where we left off at Christmas. The children were ready and raring to go as soon as we returned to school and it has been full steam ahead from that point. We have also been thrilled by the start of our 30-hour Nursery and extended offer at Breakfast Club. It has been brilliant to see new faces coming and joining our learning here and I look forward to seeing what the children can accomplish.
Have a fantastic weekend and STAY SAFE!
There have yet to be any out of school learning opportunities this half term, but that hasn't stopped our children from topping up their knowledge in classrooms. We have had money maths from Year 2 shared in assembly; scary descriptions from Year 5; balances and writing in reception and year 6 have completed their letters to their French pen friends.
Despite a chilly start to this terms Forest School, the children have really embraced the cold weather! From scavenger hunts, games and warm drinks to exploring different types of soil and rocks, whilst digging for treasure. Both children and adults had a great, albeit muddy time!
This year, we have introduced Class Dojo. A way of celebrating individuals and classes that are following our school rules of:
Be Kind.
Show Respect.
Aim High.
Children will be able to receive one or two points for these core values from any member of staff. We will keep an eye on which individuals, classes and house groups are being the kindest, most respectful and ambitious over the year.
