Overview
Logline: A hauntingly evocative experimental short, filmed entirely on an iPhone 12, that immerses viewers in a dreamlike journey through the coastal town of Whitstable, exploring themes of memory and unseen presence.
Synopsis: 'Whispers: Waves of the Diary' is a captivating short film that transcends conventional narrative through its avant-garde approach and unique cinematic techniques. Shot entirely on an iPhone 12, the film blends the intimate, everyday landscapes of Whitstable with a haunting voice-over, creating a meditative and deeply personal experience. Utilising the "Phantom Ride" technique, the film glides through the town's streets and coastal paths, inviting the audience to inhabit a world where unseen forces and fragmented memories subtly shape perception.
Director's Statement / Artistic Vision
"With 'Whispers: Waves of the Diary', my aim was to explore the profound beauty and unsettling mystery found within familiar surroundings. Filming entirely on an iPhone 12 allowed for an intimate, almost voyeuristic perspective, transforming everyday scenes in Whitstable into a canvas for introspection. The 'Phantom Ride' technique, combined with experimental editing, was crucial in crafting a dreamlike flow, where the viewer becomes a silent observer drifting through a landscape imbued with whispers of the past. The journey on the bike through town was not just a method of capture but became integral to the film's rhythm and a metaphor for the diary's unfolding secrets. This film is an exercise in conveying emotion and narrative through atmosphere and visual texture, rather than explicit plot, inviting a deeply personal interpretation."

Overview
Logline: A compelling video essay exploring the complex and often unsettling relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, delving into themes of technological displacement and the evolving nature of connection.
Synopsis: 'Replaced' is a thought-provoking video essay that critically examines the burgeoning influence of Artificial Intelligence on human interaction and the potential for technological replacement. Through a blend of insightful commentary and carefully selected visuals, the film prompts reflection on how AI is reshaping our world, challenging our perceptions of work, creativity, and personal connection. It explores the subtle anxieties and profound implications of a future where human roles might be increasingly mirrored or usurped by advanced algorithms.
Director's Statement / Artistic Vision
"With 'Replaced', my intention was to open a dialogue about a topic that deeply affects us all: the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on human existence. This video essay serves as a personal meditation on the discomfort and fascination surrounding AI's growing presence, particularly how it influences our understanding of value and purpose. I aimed to create a piece that is both informative and emotionally resonant, encouraging viewers to consider not just the capabilities of AI, but the profound human questions it raises about our future, our creativity, and what it truly means to be indispensable."
