You'll need a SimpleTrack server in order to use the SimpleTrack app. I pay $2/mo for a tiny linux cloud server and it runs many apps for me, including the SimpleTrack-Server. Instructions for setting up a SimpleTrack-Server and the open-source repo at in Github.

Thank you for using SimpleTrack. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how SimpleTrack handles information when you use our app.
SimpleTrack is designed with privacy as a core principle: your location data is sent only to a server that you own and control. We have no access to your data at any time.
1. Information We Collect
SimpleTrack does not collect any personal information. Specifically:
We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.
We do not collect or store your location data, track history, or alerts.
We do not collect device identifiers or usage analytics.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools.
All location data transmitted by SimpleTrack is sent exclusively to a server configured and operated by you. Prestile Services LLC has no access to that server or the data on it.
2. Device Permissions
SimpleTrack requests the following permissions in order to function:
Location (Foreground and Background)
SimpleTrack uses your device's location to continuously report your position to your self-hosted server. Background location access is required for tracking to function when the screen is off. Location data is transmitted only to your own server and is never sent to Prestile Services LLC or any third party.
Activity Recognition
SimpleTrack uses activity recognition to detect whether you are moving or stationary, allowing it to adjust the update frequency to conserve battery. This data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted externally.
Notifications
SimpleTrack uses notifications to alert you to incoming SOS alerts and crash detections from other group members. Notifications are generated locally on your device based on data received from your own server.
These permissions are used solely to provide the core functionality of the app and are never used for any other purpose.
3. Data Storage
All location history, stop points, and alert data are stored on the server you configure and operate. SimpleTrack does not maintain any cloud storage, remote database, or backend server of its own. You are in full control of your data and may delete it at any time through your server.
Settings and credentials entered in the app are stored locally on your device only.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data. Specifically:
No location data is sent to Prestile Services LLC or any third party.
No personal information is sold, rented, or disclosed to outside companies.
No data is transmitted anywhere other than the server you configure.
5. Children's Privacy
SimpleTrack does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data whatsoever, SimpleTrack is safe for use by all ages.
6. Security
SimpleTrack transmits location data over HTTPS to your self-hosted server. The security of that data depends on the configuration of your server. We recommend keeping your server up to date and using a strong group password within the app.
Settings stored on your device benefit from the same security protections as the rest of your device, including device encryption and lock screen protections provided by Android.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, notify users through an app update.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of SimpleTrack after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
