This Christmas Cactus is significant to my stepmom. Her mother gave her this cactus 35 years ago, and it lived with my stepmom all through four of her homes; it moved from Georgia to Missouri. In my household, sometimes we will play a game of guessing when the cactus will bloom and bet on the exact day most of the flowers will bloom. Every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas, the cactus is one more thing to look forward to as we wait on the blooming of the beautiful, vibrant flowers.
The Christmas cactus is native to Brazil where it is often associated with the holiday season. In addition, the Christmas cactus helps purify the air and is even found to increase focus and productivity.
