The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) have outline core skills and foundations of knowledge that are essential for success in the workplace and career readiness. There are eight NACE competencies that can be learned and demonstrated in many different ways. These eight NACE competencies include: Career and Self-Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Equity and Inclusion, Leadership, Professionalism, Teamwork, and Technology. The three NACE competencies learned through this research project are outlined below.

Communication - Outlined as clear and effective exchanging of information and ideas to other people, this skill has been gained through improving communication habits with faculty advisors, practicing communication skills through different mediums including a written paper and two oral presentations on the research done.
Critical thinking - Defined by understanding of situational context and logical analyzation of relevant information to connect ideas, facts, and information together. This skills has been gained by reading through multiple scholarly articles to find information that pertains to ideas of German health habits and possible effectives of film media on health habits of German adolescents.
Career and Self-Development - This is outlined as attempting to develop oneself and/or their potential and professional learning. This has been learned and developed through gaining feedback from my faculty advisor, analyzing how to use the feedback to improve upon the research, and allowing for continue growth of myself and the research.
