Part of the process of creating this presentation was figuring out how to communicate the information that I have learned through both my research and my classes in a way that was not only concise, but also easy to understand for anyone reading it. In addition to the content of my research I also worked on my communication skills as I wrote and revised this piece with the assistance of my advisor. During this process I learned how to best communicate my ideas for this piece, the revisions that I had made, and any concerns that I had moving forward.
The focus of this project revolved around making beaches more accessible to users, as result of this I was able to learn a lot about what it means for a place to be accessible. This project has taught me that there are many different factors that play into accessibility, some that exist within the environment itself and some in the areas surrounding this. With this new understanding I have learned more about what features in both physical and mental environments limit accessibility and the various ways that we can work to combat them.Â
While working on this project I had to synthesis information from both my field research and the research that I did online. This was a process that required careful planning an consideration to ensure that everything worked together and no important information was left out. This process, especially within the limited timeframe that I had, taught me the importance of being able to pick out and display important information in a timely and consise manner that allowed for the broadest range of data on the topic to be shown.
