I originally did my research for my Capstone project, so at the very end of it I had to merge my paper with three other students who shared the same topic theme as me. We had to listen to each other to be able to merge the research and papers together seamlessly, as well as present it later on during class.
Not only did I have to further my written communication skills due to communication with my group and explaining my research, but I also really focused on verbal skills as I presented the research to the class and could only have a sentence on the presentation slides to start explaining and give the main idea of my research.
Throughout my research and talking with guest speakers who were in the field of my research, I figured out what I wanted to do for my career: be a data analyst for the FBI that focused on terrorism. This helped me address my own strengths for the field and what I needed to work on to be able to get where I wanted to go.
