As a first-year college student, having the opportunity to take part in a research project and present that project at a forum is immense jumpstart for my future career. This experience has also given me the opportunity to learn new skills and expand on the concepts I am learning in my classes.
Since I started working on this project, I have had a lot of practice communicating with both my faculty mentor, Dr. Love, as well as other faculty members and graduate students. I have also gotten the opportunity to learn and practice writing skills through grant proposals and presentations.
Working with Dr. Love on this project has not only pushed me to think outside the box but has also made me to organize my time better and organize my thoughts in a way that I can better express them to others.
