My research on alternative photography has provided valuable opportunities for professional and personal growth. Through hands-on teaching, interdisciplinary exploration, and a commitment to accessibility, I’ve developed several key career readiness competencies that align with the NACE framework.
Through my research on alternative photography, I’ve embraced equity and inclusion by using sustainable, low-cost materials that reduce barriers to participation. These accessible processes create space for all students to engage creatively, regardless of background, resources, or prior experience.
Introducing alternative photography enhances my communication skills as I explain complex processes in clear ways. Students also share and reflect on their work, allowing me to facilitate discussions and provide meaningful feedback.
