Q: HOW DO I GET CERTIFIED ON THE LASER CUTTERS?

A: 1. Attend a workshop to learn how to use the laser cutters

2. Take the certification quiz 

3. Once you pass the quiz, come in with a file and material for your walk-thru.

Q: CAN I HAVE A ONE-ON-ONE WORKSHOP IF I CAN'T ATTEND A THE SCHEDULED WORKSHOPS?

A: Due to high demand, we can no longer offer one-on-one workshops for laser cutting.

The Laser Cutters are first come first serve.

$3 minimum fee
$0.10/minute for students / $0.20/minute for alumni/faculty/staff *BYOM (bring your own materials)*

* It is unsafe to cut PVC, vinyl, or freshly spray painted/finished materials. Glass or metal can be etched or engraved, but not cut. Most organic materials and various plastics are great in the laser cutter. You can check out the ULS materials list to get an idea of various materials here. Ask us if you have questions about materials!

The laser cutter bed is 18" x 32". Your material needs to be cut down to that size or smaller in order to fit in the machine.

Laser can cut through up to 1/4" of material, but can etch/engrave into material of whatever thickness as long as it fits in the bed (around 3"). Bed weight limit is 40 lbs.
