I was interested in this cover as I thought drawing the light from the candles on the faces though I felt it was an idea that had already been done.

Initial thumbnail ideas- I knew I wanted to draw Tosca herself and have the bodies represented in some way- I was initially leaning towards the last one in the second row.

I wasn't too interested in this idea until I came up with the idea to have the limbs of the dead men in the surrounding space. A classmate also pointed out that the way the title is positioned with Tosca forms a "T".
