The Morris Hills Regional District’s Summer Reading Program is founded on the belief that encouraging and inspiring students to read year-round is a key element in the development of lifelong learners. With your support, we have been able to create some wonderful opportunities for our students and staff. I thank you for your continued support and effort to make the Districtwide Summer Reading Program an exceptional experience year after year.

This year’s districtwide theme is “Pop Into a Good Book”. All students entering grades 9-12 in September 2022 are required to select one book to read and complete a small assignment. All instructions can be found by utilizing the navigation to the left and selecting Districtwide Assignment. Our district librarians have created guides that include some recommendations for students based on a variety of interests, but ultimately, the selection is the choice of the students in consultation with their parent/guardian. It is our hope that this will be a fun, light, way to continue to spark an interest in reading and learn a little more about each other.

Please be advised that there will be additional summer reading titles and assignments for students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program at Morris Knolls High School (11th and 12th graders), 9th graders entering the Academy for Math, Science, and Engineering at Morris Hills High School, and students enrolled in Service Learning, AP English Language, and AP English Literature at both high schools. Details for these assignments can also be found by selecting the appropriate course to the left.
