Description: This session focuses on the beginning coach and what it means to be a coach in your district. Come define your role as a coach in your school’s structure. Work with your team to set goals, discuss the benefits of coaching, and overcome challenges.
Description: The instructional coaching model is implemented differently from district to district. Teachers’ expectations and their buy-in of the instructional coaching program also varies. This session will allow coaches to discuss how to open up dialogue with the staff in order to cultivate trust in the coaching environment. We will discuss how confidential, non-evaluative conversations and real time support in and out of the classroom can cultivate a positive coaching culture. Through hands on activities, participants will walk away with strategies on inquiry-based practices, peer-to-coach conversations, as well as materials on different one-on-one coaching cycles.
