The Adult High School School Graduation Requirements were established by the MHRD Board of Education and the N.J. State of Education. Students must successfully complete 140 high school credits. Passing of state-wide high school proficiency assessment may be required for graduation.

Our credit recovery program provides a supportive solution for high school students who need to earn missing credits required for graduation. Whether you've fallen behind due to health challenges, academic difficulties, or other circumstances, we can help. Speak with your school counselor about utilizing our credit recovery services. If they have questions, we're happy to provide all the necessary information to support your academic success.
We offer a comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) curriculum to help students learning English improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills. The program also helps students meet school and state requirements so they can achieve their personal goals, such as continuing their education or job training.
May be required to take an English proficiency test.
Will be placed in appropriate language classes.
May be referred to other resources if the school can't meet their needs.

The school will request your most recent IEP (if less than 3 years old)
We do not have special education programs but can provide accommodation via a 504 Plan
Will refer you to other schools or agencies if they can't provide needed services

The Adult High School follows a 15 week semester-based academic calendar. The fall semester begins in September and ends in early January, followed by the spring semester, which begins in late January and ends in late May.
September 14 - First Day of Classes
October 2 - Last Day to Register for Fall Classes
January 4 - 6 - Final Exam Week

Course offerings, meeting days, and class times are provided after you complete the registration process and your transcript has been reviewed.
Adult High School classes meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings during one of the following time blocks:
6:30–8:00 PM
8:00–9:30 PM
Many courses are also available in an online format.
The Adult High School offers two 15-week semesters each year: a Fall Semester and a Spring Semester.
Each student’s schedule is based on the courses needed to meet graduation requirements. Students who would like to discuss their options or have their transcript reviewed are encouraged to schedule an appointment with the Adult High School Supervisor for assistance in determining the best path toward graduation.
The cost to register per semester is $35.00.
This registration fee is non-refundable.
Students will not be scheduled for their course(s) until the registration fee is paid in full.

Fall Semester:
Before the first day of fall class (September 14th) = Full Refund minus the non-refundable administrative fee per course
After September 14th - October 2nd = 50% refund per course, inclusive of administrative fees
After October 2nd = No Refund will be issued for all cancelled courses, including no shows
Spring Semester:
Before the first day of spring class (January 25th) = Full Refund minus the non-refundable administrative fee per course
After January 25th through February 19th = 50% refund per course, inclusive of administrative fees
After February 19th = No Refund will be issued for all cancelled courses, including no shows
The Adult High School operates on a 15-week semester.
Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes. If a student must miss a class, they should email their teacher in advance whenever possible and complete any missed assignments to be marked AE (Absence Excused).
Adult High School teachers are the primary monitors of attendance and may excuse absences based on their class-specific attendance policies. In most cases, students must notify their teacher before an absence and ensure that all assigned work is completed in a timely manner to qualify for an excused absence.

Please note: Students who are dropped due to unexcused absences will not receive refunds.
