What is the Soundtrack Pass?
Throughout the school year, students will earn points toward building their Soundtrack Pass, a personalized collection of reading experiences that connect stories to the evolving soundtrack of a nation celebrating 250 years. Points are earned through optional activities that connect reading to music, voice, and storytelling. The greater the effort and participation, the higher the chance of earning some really great prizes at the end of the school year.

How do I accumulate points toward my Soundtrack Pass?
Classroom Visit & Library Book Borrow (5 points)
Participate in a Lunchtime Literacy Event in the Library (15 points)
Perfect Marking Period Reading Program Score (15 points)
Submit your Summer Reading 2026 Assignment (20 points)
Completion of an Independent Read (20 points)
Receive a Caught Reading Pass from a Staff Member (25 points)
Most improved ELA Student *Awarded MP2 and MP3* (25 points)
How do I log my progress?
Teachers will post a Form in their Google Classrooms for you to fill out each time you complete one of the pathways to points listed above. Your points will automatically start accumulating toward our end-of-year rewards! Please remember to track your points. While some events will have attendance taken as a backup, you want to make sure you are diligent about tracking your points to avoid missing out on some great prizes.
What are the prizes?
Various prizes will be awarded at the end of the school year. Prizes are subject to change from year to year. For example, in May 2026, the following prizes were awarded:
Grand Prize: Trip to NYC to see The Outsiders on Broadway (50 students)
Level Two Prize: An MH or MK Yearbook (20 students)
Level Three Prize: A Barnes & Noble Gift Card (50 students)
PRIZES for the 2026 - 2027 school year will be announced in January 2027.
