Taking an Advanced Placement (AP) exam is a key part of an AP course, and Morris Hills High School encourages all students to take the exam for their enrolled AP classes. Scoring well can earn college credit, potentially saving on tuition costs.
The AP College Board program offers new resources to support teachers using the online AP Classroom. Students will be guided by their AP teachers to join AP Classroom using their College Board accounts—the same accounts used for viewing PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, or AP scores, and registering for the SAT.
AP teachers will provide "join codes" on September 16th. After joining the AP Classroom, students are automatically registered for the May 2025 exam. The registration process includes two steps: (1) Joining AP Classroom, and (2) Confirming payment via MySchoolBucks by the registration deadline.
Freshmen or students without a PSAT history will need to create a College Board account. It is important that students, not parents, create this account.
All students, including those in the Academy of Math, Science, and Engineering, must use the Morris Hills High School CEEB Code: 311320 for testing purposes.
Morris Hills High School (MHHS) will only administer Advanced Placement exams for MHHS/Academy of Mathematics, Science & Engineering students currently enrolled in an AP course on campus or students that applied and were approved to self-study via the Gifted and Talented program.
Students who without prior approval of the Morris Hills Regional District (MHRD) opt to self-study an AP Course must find alternate AP testing locations for the AP Examination of that course. These students may contact College Board’s AP Services (877-274-6474) for a list of local high schools that may offer the exams. Seating capacity ranges differ depending on the AP exam. Note AP scores from AP examinations taken after self-study will not be included on their MHRD academic transcript. It will be the student’s personal responsibility to work with the College Board to get their self-study AP examination results to their prospective colleges and universities.
The cost for each AP exam is $99.00
Students in the Free/Reduced Lunch program can bring the cost per examination down to $53.00 through:
A $37 fee reduction available through the College Board.
An additional $9 rebate available through the school.

Stand out in college admissions: Taking AP is a sign students are ready for college.
Earn college credits: Colleges nationwide offer credit, advanced placement or both for qualifying examination scores, which can save time and money.
Skip introductory classes: students can move directly to upper-level and major-specific courses.
Build college skills -- from problem solving to time management-- and build confidence .
Pursue interests: Students can explore with depth subjects for which they have shown an interest or passion.
