1. Illustrate what you wish your summer to look like!
Kindness Project
Do something nice for a teacher.
Choose a teacher, or more than one, to show an act of kindness to. Your act of kindness could be sending an email saying thank you. It could be drawing a picture or making a card and sending it to school for them to receive. Think about what would put a smile on a teachers face. Teachers have been missing their students so much and with the year coming to an end it will brighten their spirits and let them know that they are missed too.

3. If you have access to Netflix, check out "Brainchild." It is a science-themed show that’s perfect for tweens. It explores the science behind engaging topics like social media, dreams, and emotions. Be sure to check out the “Creativity” episode for a direct connection to art.

Kindness Project
2. Call someone! Pick up the phone (no texting) and call a friend or family member. Think about the people you have been missing most or someone that you know could use a pick me up. Dial them up and have a conversation with them to see how they are doing. You can work on communication skills and listening skills. Check in on your loved ones often and make someone smile today!

4. Click above to explore the Museum of Modern Art in New York! Make sure to click “Launch Site” and take a ride into the museum! Explore around and find artwork that interests you or art that makes you question it, or art that might even confuse you!

3. Take a tour and complete some activities at the San Diego Zoo! Find your favorite animal and draw it or create your own zoo! What would the layout of your zoo be like? What animals would it have? What environments would you need?

Someone Special
1. May 10th is Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day probably looks different to a lot of us, so instead of it being Mother’s Day, let’s make it Someone Special Day! Find that Someone Special in your life and get ready to make a little gift of appreciation for them. You’ll be making a pendant out of air dry clay, but you could also make many other things with your clay for your someone special. Click above!

Creative Show
If you have access to Netflix, with parent permission, check out the show “Nailed It.” It is a show of people trying their talents at baking and trying to recreate baked masterpieces. It is quite hilarious and sometimes disastrous, but they never give up!

4. Bob Ross is a well known calm and sweet landscape artist. He used to have a show on PBS called “The Joy of Painting.” You can still enjoy Bob Ross’s painting show. If you have Netflix, watch some episodes of “Beauty is Everywhere” or “Chill with Bob Ross” or search Bob Ross on Youtube and you can watch a lot of episodes.

Kindness Project
2a. Spread cheer and kindness to others by making a card and sending it to someone in need. Who to send it to? Someone who has a birthday, an essential worker who needs a pick me up, patients in a hospital or nursing home, or a thank you card to a medical professional.
2b. A few of my friends, including Mr. Yates, had Birthdays recently so I sent them a handmade Birthday card! Share you creativity and kindness with others :)

Kindness Project
2. People all around are decorating their windows with happy positive artwork. This started to help people who are deemed "essential workers" and have to go out of their home or to spread joy to families that are maybe going for walks to get some fresh air and exercise. The next time the mail person comes to your house, it could brighten their day to see your positive window artwork.
Decorate your windows with hearts or anything joyful! It could be paper cut outs or with a parents permission, window paint.
