Español V

This two-semester course is designed to parallel the skill development of a third-year college Spanish course in advanced composition and conversation. The course focuses on the strengthening of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through the study of the arts, history, literature, culture and current events. Students will use high-order thinking skills to interact with authentic texts and media as well as read a Spanish-language novel. Students must be highly motivated, have a strong interest in Spanish and be willing to meet a demanding standard of accomplishment. Successful completion of this course will better prepare students for university placement testing and allow them to proceed with greater confidence while they enter the workforce or attend Spanish courses at the university level. Students are eligible to travel with the Spanish Club during Spring break with trips taken every other year. Classwork is conducted in Spanish.
