I grew up in Tennessee and moved to North Carolina in 2000 to start my career as a professional educator. I earned a Bachelor's degree from Tennessee State University and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in K-12 Literacy Instruction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

I was a classroom teacher for 8 years. For the past 14 years, it has been an extraordinary honor and privilege to serve as a Reading Specialist.

My husband, Andre, and I reside in Mooresville. We have been married for 11 years. We have a daughter, Brynn Drew, who is currently a kindergartner. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
