Team B10s

Joseph

In middle school, Joseph was a part of the STEM group where he participated in engineering-related activities including competitions in egg-drops, "useless-machines" and the coding of virtual arcade games. Since joining the NAF Academy of Engineering at Mooresville High School in 2019, he has participated in STEM-related activities such as creating mockups of "earthquake-resistant buildings" out of everyday items and building functional cardboard arcade games. He decided to join the NAF CubeSat team because he wanted to maintain his involvement in STEM-related activities as well as having a way to monitor the environment in the community in which he lives. CubeSat was a great fit for both of these interests. Now a sophomore, he has maintained his spot on the honor roll and participated in honors-level classes. In his free time, he enjoys visiting friends and family as well as playing with his dog, Toby. After graduating from Mooresville High, he plans to attend a four-year college and pursue a STEM-related career path.

Kamryn

Kamryn joined the Mooresville High School NAF Academy of Engineering during her freshman year. Before joining, she was involved in several STEM activities that led her to become an alumni of the academy. Since the beginning of her NAF career, she has competed in projects such as the building of functional cardboard arcade games and has gone on educational trips to places such as the iFLY indoor skydiving experience. When she discovered that MHS would be participating in the CubeSat 2020/2021 project, she was immediately interested due to her love of engineering, which initially lead her to join the team. Outside of the NAF Academy, she is involved in the Mooresville Blue Diamonds, the color guard team for her school. She is a honor roll student who has taken honors-level classes throughout her high school career. In her free time, she enjoys baking. After college, she would like to become a prominent Human Rights attorney.

Tristan

Tristan got involved with the CubeSAT team because he thought it was a good chance to work with his engineering skills and to gain experiences that could help him in his future career interests. He also wanted to practice real world applications of 3d modeling and engineering.

Tristan has played soccer his entire life and also really enjoys watching soccer as well. He likes playing with his dog and driving.

He is a member of the National Honor Society as well as SkillsUSA. He placed 1st in SkillsUSA State Drafting competition in 2019 and won 1st place in SkillsUSA regional technical drafting.

After he graduates from high school, Tristan hopes to attend a college with a strong engineering department and begin a career in engineering that uses 3D modeling.

Isabella

Isabella is in 10th grade and is 15 years old. She participated in robotics competitions when she was in middle school. Isabella joined NAF because of her love for STEM and because in college she wants to study Biomedical Engineering. She decided to participate in CubeSat because she loves projects and working with things that will help the environment. Isabella likes to read, draw, play sports, play the guitar, and spend time with friends and family. She plans on pursuing a career as a Biomedical Engineer and work with prosthetics.

Caleb

Caleb is 15 years old and a sophomore in high school. He enjoys STEM and wants to study to be an engineer in college. Caleb has been in a robotics club for several years and enjoys learning about the programming for robots as well as other aspects of engineering.

Clark

Clark is a 16 year old sophomore at Mooresville High School and a part of his school's CubeSat team. Clark has enjoyed designing and building things all of his life, which is the main reason he joined both his school's NAF Academy of Engineering and CubeSat team. Clark was part of a robotics team for many years where he and a few others went to state level competitions and placed multiple times. Clark runs cross country, track, and plays soccer. After graduating high school Clark plans to go to college to study Mechanical Engineering.

Khadeejah

Khadeejah joined NAF to explore the ever-changing world of technology. She joined the CubeSat team because of her interest in space and to gain valuable experience. Her other passions are tennis, baking, and running. She participated in Camp Med and won a prize in their video contest. She enjoys reading and listening to music. She also participates in the CyberPatriots club, Athletes Involved More club, and the Book club. She is hoping to enjoy her high school experience to the fullest.

Drina

Drina is a sophomore at Mooresville High School and she is also a part of the NAF Academy of Engineering and the school's CubeSat team. Her interests in engineering, robotics, and artificial intelligence is what attracted her to the CubeSat team. Prior to enrolling at Mooresville High School, Drina was a part of the Future City and Science Olympiad team for 3 years at Langtree Charter. She competed at the state and national level. Drina runs cross country and track, and after high school plans to pursue a bachelor's and master's in Biomedical Engineering.

Jonas

Jonas is seventeen years old and is a senior at Mooresville High School. He decided to join the CubeSat team in order to help operate the 3D printers in the classroom for testing prototypes. His experience with using different CAD systems and slicers has helped the project move smoothly and efficiently. He also helps with the other fields in the CubeSat project as an extra set of hands when needed. Jonas plans to attend Brigham Young University after high school and major in Mechanical Engineering.

JonVincent

In his freshman year at Mooresville High School, JonVincent joined the NAF Academy of Engineering in hopes of exploring his interests in software. Though he prefers to work alone most of the time, he joined CubeSat to follow STEM interests while working with a team. In his free time he makes 2D animation, 3D standalone games, and plays tennis. In the near future he aspires to attend college and pursue a degree that will help him with a career as a software programmer.
