Important Dates:
7th Grade Orientation: July 27th and 28th (Students will attend based on the first letter of their last name. More information will follow as to which date your student(s) should attend.)
First Day of School: August 10, 2022 (proposed start date), School starts at 7:30 and dismisses at 2:30
Fall Festival and Powder Puff Game: TBD
MMS Athletics
What sports are offered?
Fall Sports include: FOOTBALL (7th & 8th grade teams), SOFTBALL, TENNIS (boys & girls), CROSS COUNTRY(boys & girls) -- tryouts in July / Aug 2021
Winter Sports include: 7TH GRADE BASKETBALL (boys & girls), 8TH GRADE BASKETBALL (boys & girls), WRESTLING, CHEERLEADING -- tryouts in Nov / Dec 2021
Spring Sports include: BASEBALL, SOCCER (boys & girls), TRACK (boys & girls), VOLLEYBALL -- tryouts in February 2022
** CHEERLEADING runs for both Fall & Winter sports -- tryouts TBD
Additional Athletics Information (all dates subject to change due to COVID-19) :
Free physicals at Mooresville Middle (date TBD); more information will be sent to MIS and EMIS in spring 2022.
Athletic physical using state-required form is due every 365 days for athletes; physical form MUST be on file with school before students may participate in any workouts, tryouts, practices, or athletic events.
Concussion paperwork and Random Drug Testing form also must be signed by athlete and parent after watching a mandatory video.
MMS Club Information
History Club - michaelfulton@mgsd.k12.nc.us Each year the History Club takes an overnight trip. Last year they traveled to Charleston, South Carolina.
Science Club - jeanstowell@mgsd.k12.nc.us The Science Club travels to Sound of Sea each year.
Yearbook- michaelcline@mgsd.k12.nc.us The yearbook club puts together the MMS yearbook.
