Parent Teacher Student Interviews - Online 

(On Webex Meetings)

Tuesday 19th March, 3:30-6:30pm

& Wednesday 27th March, 1.30-8:00pm (break 5-6pm)


Students are expected to attend the online interviews.

If you are new to using Webex for online Parent Teacher Student Interviews at MGSC, the video and text instructions on this page will help you to get started.

Instructions For Accessing PTS Interviews

Prior to the interview day:

1. Book the requested or required interviews in Compass Conferences. (Only accessible via parents' Compass accounts).

2. Watch the video opposite to find out how to access teachers' online rooms and how to use Webex Meetings.

3. Check that you can access Webex Meetings:

        For pc or Mac computer - Go to https://eduvic.webex.com/ on your pc or Mac.    Do not try to sign in.

        For mobile devices - Download the Cisco Webex Meetings app

4. Review your your daughter's Progress Report on Compass to identify any items for discussion.

On the Interview Day:

1. Go to the "Teacher Meeting Rooms" page on this website.

2. Just prior to the interview time, click on the required teacher meeting room address.  The Webex Meeting space will open.

3. Turn on your microphone and camera.

4. Click on "Join Meeting"

5. Wait for the teacher to admit you to the meeting from their lobby.

6. At the end of the interview, remember to 'Leave' ( X ) the meeting.

7. Return to the Teacher Meeting Room links page for the address of your next interview.

The link will be visible and active on the day of the interviews.

Additional Online Interview Information for Parents


Notes:

Parents may book on one or both days and can book one interview with any of their child’s teachers.


As Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews will be held via video conferencing, each meeting time slot is ten minutes in length to allow staff and parents to move between meetings and deal with any technical issues that might arise. Interviews are not expected to use the full ten minutes.


For semester based subjects and electives, please be aware that reports and interviews will be based only upon the interactions we have had with your child during the first term of the current semester.


Webex Meetings Video Conference Platform - additional information:


Interviews can be run through an Internet browser. You do not need a Webex account.

Alternatively, you can download the Webex Meetings desktop app before the interviews. Download here. 


Each teacher’s Webex Rooms will be locked. After clicking on the link you will be taken to the teacher’s lobby.  When the teacher has concluded their previous interview, they will then admit you into the meeting room. 


It is important that the interviews are kept to time. If discussions have not been finalised within the allotted time, please make arrangements to communicate further with the teacher at a late date. 


The Webex Personal Rooms are only to be used outside of interview days by prior appointment with the teacher.


What to do if you are having technical difficulties:


If you are having technical issues when connecting to a teacher meeting, please email the teacher through Compass with a preferred phone number. If you are unable to make a booking, please communicate with the teacher via email.
