Myrtle Grove Christian School
Warrior Weekly
Myrtle Grove Christian School’s mission is to educate students by exposing them to biblical principles
as a framework for all that is taught. The goal for all students is that they be strengthened spiritually, morally, academically, emotionally,
and physically to meet the challenges of higher education and their call to serve Christ in the world.

Real WOrld Recycling
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! 2nd graders learned about the process of recycling paper and got to create their own in the lab this week. They are learning how to steward our resources wisely and what products natural resources make.
First Grade Science
First grade is learning about the stars and constellations in science. Students participated in a STEM activity where they built the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper constellations with pretzel sticks and marshmallows for a delicious learning experience that was far out.
The Oregon Trail
Last week, 5th grade embarked on an MGCS Oregon Trail experience in our Outdoor Learning Environment. These brave pioneers dipped candles, made bread, churned butter, bartered for supplies, and sought medical help all while avoiding bandits, illnesses, and injuries. Some were bitten by snakes, robbed, and developed cholera, but everyone survived and made it to "Oregon'' where they roasted hot dogs over an open fire and reflected on their journey.
Students loved this hands-on learning opportunity and were eager to talk about all that they experienced on the trail. They even created stories from the day and wrote these in their journals. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who helped make the day such a success.
Congratulations Girls B Team!
Congratualtions to our Girls B Team for advancing to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Tonight (2/2), they face WCA at 6:15PM in St. Mark's gym. Put on your green and white and go support our Warriors!
TRibe Outreach: NOurish NC
Our Tribes have a monthly missional outreach component to help people in our larger community. This month, we are supporting Nourish NC which provides hungry children with healthy food to empower success in their classrooms and community. Nourish NC has more than 1,400 students in their program, and they need our help.
We are collecting donations until 2/16 then on 2/22, tribes will pack the snack bags, pray for the students who will receive the snacks, then send them off together.
If you can volunteer to help your student's tribe build the Pack-A-Snack bags on 2/22, please email ksisk@mgcs.org.
During January and through February 16th, we encourage all Tribe members to join in this mission by bringing in the following items according to your last name and join us in prayer for Nourish NC and the families they help.
Last Name A-J Fruit Squeeze Pouch or GoGo Squeeze Yogurt (shelf-stable)
Last Name K-R Granola Bar or Sandwich Cracker ; Fruit Snacks or raisins.
Last Name S-Z Juice Box or small water (no Kool-Aid please)
Nourish NC encourages donors to buy new rather than donate from cupboards to help prevent expired food making its way into the Snack Packs.
Thank you for serving alongside us as we use our resources, gifts, and leadership to share the gospel with your children and those in our local community.
