MECHS Weekly Newsletter

Principal Message: May 3rd, 2024

Families and Students,

What a week! Make sure you check out the pics below.  We had spirit week, Prom campaigning, NHS induction, STNA Pinning Ceremony, Internship Presentations, Senior Awards, field trips, and so much more! We are officially getting to the end of the year.  Please check your student's grades to make sure they are working towards mastery.  A lot of our classes are finishing up big projects that make up a lot of standards so we want to make sure that students are working up until the very end. Students have signed up for Spring Seminar courses which will begin on May 16th. Some students will be assigned remediation if they are close to mastery in their courses.

As Prom approaches this Saturday, I just want to take a moment to highlight its significance beyond just a fun and glamorous event; Prom is a celebration of achievements, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. While it's one of my favorite events, safety is paramount. We want our students to make wise choices to ensure every moment is filled with joy. Here's to embracing the magic of prom and creating unforgettable memories safely!

Seniors have two big weeks ahead of them.   CSCC graduation and the senior class trip to Cedar Point are on Friday, May 10th.  We also have our signing ceremonies next week for seniors;  Military Signing is on Monday evening, Career Signing is on Tuesday morning, and Collegiate Athletic Signing is on Thursday evening. The next week we have Monarch Fest on Wednesday  May 15th and Graduation Practice on the 16th. And then the big day is on May 18th when we will have graduation at Impact Stadium at 7pm!

Invitations have been sent out to next year's freshmen to attend our freshmen bridge on June 5th.  We are looking for current students who are interested in volunteering that day to help welcome our new ECHS students. Have your student fill out this form if they are interested in helping out.  Our best representatives and leaders are our current students! We couldn't ask for a better group to help prepare our future freshmen.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Jen Hinderer; Principal

How to view your child’s assessment scores via your PowerSchool Parent Portal:

To access your child’s scores, log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal. Select “State Assessments” located on the left side of your computer screen.  You will then see a “Grades 3-8” and “End of Course” tab.  Please click on the “End of Course” tab to access high school state assessment results.  If you have multiple children, you can toggle between students using the tool on the top left.  It is recommended to access scores on a desktop, tablet, or laptop as you will not be able to view “State Assessments” via the app on your phone unless you go through a separate web browser.
