What This Path Can Look Like

Inclusive Post Secondary Education (IPSE) programs provide college based experiences for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These programs focus on academics, employment, independent living, and social inclusion.

Examples include:

-College courses with supports

-Campus based employment experiences

-Supported housing or commuter options

-Social and community engagement opportunities

Success is defined by participation, growth, and inclusion.

Skills That Help (Helpful, Not Required)

Skills that may support IPSE participation include but not limited to:

-Following routines with support

-Communicating needs or preferences

-Participating in group settings

-Managing transitions on campus

-Practicing self advocacy with guidance

These skills are built within the program.

Supports That Make This Path Possible

Common supports include but not limited to:

-Program staff and peer mentors

-Academic accommodations
