What is the Showcase?

Our annual Showcase is a time for our recreational athletes to shine! Each gymnast will have the opportunity to showcase skills they have learned in class. At each session, the gymnasts will rotate in small groups to each of the events. Coaches will accompany the gymnasts and assist them throughout the event.

Is my child required to participate in the showcase?

Absolutely not! We highly encourage it but it is up to your child and you. It is a great time for the athletes to show off their skills in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere.

We didn't buy a leotard or t-shirt, what should my child wear?

Gymnasts should wear the same apparel they wear to class. We recommend a leotard for girls with hair pulled back and shorts with a t-shirt for boys.

Can my child participate if we are dropping for the summer?

All gymnasts who are enrolled through the end of May are welcome to participate in the Showcase. This ensures each gymnast is able to learn the Showcase skills in class and be prepared for the event.

Will my child be with his/her coach?

In order to facilitate a smooth event, we have a select group of coaches work during the Showcase. In addition, we try to allow flexibility for families to sign up for convenient days/times. Due to these reasons your child may not be with their regular coach. However, all of our staff is ready and willing to make this a positive experience for your child. Please let us know if you have specific concerns prior to your session and we will work with you to make this a great event!

My child is in the ______ program. Are they able to participate?

Most of our recreational athletes at Metro Stars Gymnastics are able to participate in our Showcase. The skills learned in class will reflect the program your child is enrolled in; preschool, girls gymnastics, boys gymnastics, and trampoline and tumbling!

My child moved up! Can I change my session?

Athletes will participate in the level they are currently in regardless of move ups that happen after registration.

Is there a cost to observe?

Nope! There is no cost to spectators! We are excited to showcase the skills your child has learned and to help celebrate their success!

Are we limited in the number of spectators per athlete?

Nope! Our plan is to uphold our standard from years past by inviting spectators without limit.

What if my child doesn't know his/her skills?

While each class will be working on skills leading up to the Showcase, we are creating resources to help your gymnast practice at home. Our monthly Vitamin G videos will shift in mid-April to focus on Showcase skills until the end of May. Search for the Vitamin G link in your parent portal and don't hesitate to ask Guest Services if you have any trouble. Also, keep in mind, coaches will be assisting gymnasts during the Showcase. If a gymnast needs a spot, help with a skill, etc., we're here to help!

How early do we need to arrive for Showcase?

Please plan to arrive 5 - 10 minutes before the Showcase to check your child in. Once checked in, you and your child will be directed as to where to go for the performance.
