For my first shadow I spent my time greeting with Matt for about 30 minutes and talking about goals I have and what I want to learn. I spent a lot of watching what he was doing and along that working on my CCRI college class since it's a PTA class which is a class that is going towards a degree already.
Today I met up with my mentor, and we had a conversation on things I could start doing and what he has done with his past interns. One of the things that he has always made them do it creating short little articles about subtopics in the field of PT. I chose to start writing about tennis and how to prevent shoulder injuries and what to do. After completing my article, I watch matt take care of 2 clients that he had and afterwards I went home to start getting ready for tennis.
This week my Mentor went to Alaska. So, I spent the week in Launch completing assignments that I had along that I had a test at CCRI and just focuses on my Adamiecs overall.
This week I was observing my mentor do needling on a baseball player with lower back pain that is preventing him from doing his usually fitness and along that he had to take a 2-day break after the needling. Then the second interesting client was another hockey player who in the end of the session he decided that he wouldn't be able to play for this winter season to have a better recovery with the back/knee pain.
This week my Mentor canceled on wESDNDAY BECAUSE HE HAD A DOCTOR APPOINTMENT SO i ENDED UP GOING TO LAUNCH FOR A LITTLE BIT UNTIL I HAD TO LEAVE EARLY FOR TENNIS. Then on Friday I spent my entire day studying for my midterm since this is the test that has the biggest influence in my overall grade.
What I'm mainly studying at the moment is the History of PTA/PT and the function and legal system of taking care of patients and the insurance policy. But these are bound to change due to recent events.
