I am Ms. Tara Cantello, and I am the science teacher on Team Independence. Methacton became a part of my life when we moved from Norristown to Audubon right before I started kindergarten, and, in the blink of an eye, I was receiving my Methacton High School diploma. I continued to live in the district while I was in college and came back to teach here once I graduated. I bleed green and white!
I received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Chestnut Hill College and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Arcadia University.
I have taught kindergarten, sixth grade, and now eighth grade. While kindergartners were cute and sixth graders were sweet, my favorite teaching assignment has been eighth grade. I have always had a love for science and math. I'm fascinated by the way things work and how they interact. Eighth grade Physical Science is that perfect combination of young teenagers, math, and science.
Along with teaching science, I am involved with many programs in the district and community. I produce the school musical, sponsor 8th grade Student Congress, assist in the planning of the Veterans Day assembly, organize fundraisers for local charities, and jump in whenever needed. Needless to say, I require very little sleep.
My goal is to help my students be the best they can be in all that they do.
