I am so excited to start this year with some new lessons. There may be some unexpected challenges along the way as we adapt to a new special area schedule but with communication, flexibility and kindness we can overcome them.
What each student needs for Art Class: Dress for a mess. Smocks are highly recommended. Slightly big shirt with
name write on the front will be perfect. Please bring to each class.
Every grade is assigned to a google art classroom to obtain art lessons and attend a google meet incase of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances (FID). Please make sure your child has joined their art classroom.
Thank you.
Schedule and Rotation:
Each student in grades 1- 4 visits the art studio once a cycle for 50 minutes with a rotating schedule of twice a cycle for 1/3 of the school year. A cycle consist of a 6 day schedule with day 6 as a rotating day.

I strongly believe that children are natural artists, one of their many gifts, for they express themselves freely with imagination. Students will explore many different media; drawing, painting, collage, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, etc... and must come prepared with a smock for the little accidents that due occur.
There will be challenges as the students learn techniques. It is extremely important and expected that students put their best foot forward with a positive attitude so they learn, enjoy the experience and appreciate the art form. Mistakes will happen and that is okay. Not every lesson will be their favorite and that is okay as well, but we need to always try our best and be respectful. We are here to learn and grow together. I am excited to nurture and watch the growth of my students as they become their own individual artists who are respectful and responsible individuals.
