~Independent Reading Project (IRP)/20 Book Challenge:

IRP Due Dates by Marking Period
Requirements:
📖read a minimum of 3 books per marking period
📖complete an activity per book from the Choice Board
📖Accelerated Reader Quiz is a choice: minimum score of 70%
📖For the 20 Book Challenge, students first need to read a book within their ZPD.
📖After a book is read:
Students will decide from their IRP Choice Board on google classroom a project
Students will fill out the title of the book and AR score if applicable
Students will fill out the project digitally or on a paper copy that is applicable to that choice. i.e. Create a Quiz- they will complete within the slide presentation or on paper
Students will turn in on google classroom for review by the teacher.
Either a check or a fix me will be put on the choice and return to the student.
If a fix me is left, comments will be provided to support the student so they are aware of the adjustments they should make
This process is repeated each time for a total of 3 books per marking period.
📖Please note that in the 1st and 2nd marking periods the due dates are more flexible. The students are working toward learning time management and planning accordingly. By the 3rd and 4th marking periods, the students are expected to mee the due dates.
Additional Information:
📖students are encouraged to achieve the 20 Book Challenge by surpassing the requirement (per marking period) reading 4 or more books
📖Extra credit is earned for additional books, up to 2 bonus points (bonus points are earned in homework/classwork)
📖IRP Choice Boards are counted as a comprehension grade
ELA Classwork and Homework Policy~
~Students are graded points based on the assignment. The assignments can be turned in for full credit up until the unit has been tested. Once the unit test has been given no additional credit can be earn.
