Meet the Teacher

This is my 14th year teaching art to middle school students and my 10th year teaching at Arcola. I began my teaching career in the Baltimore City Public School System in 2007 and taught there for 2 years. In 2009 I started teaching in the Allentown School District and was there for 2 years. I have been a teacher for most of my life. Before teaching art, I was a dance teacher at the studio where I also danced, starting when I was only 14!

My family is very important to me. I live with my husband, son, and our 2 cats. My husband is an entomologist. My son Elliott is 3 years old and loves anything about outer space and animals.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, dancing, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. I also love spending time in my home art studio where I mostly paint and enamel (metalworking with glass). I have a few examples of my recent work posted for you to take a look.
