Jr. Gamma Phi Circus Director
Ms. Tarr works as our PreK-4 Makerspace teacher/STEM specialist at Metcalf.
Ms. Tarr was a cheerleader and a gymnast growing up and coached competitive cheerleading for 9 years prior to coming to Metcalf. She fell in love with the circus when she saw her first Jr. Gamma Phi performance.
Coach Avery is the assistant director of the Jr. Gamma Phi Circus. He is an Illinois State University alumnus and former Gamma Phi Circus performer. He coached Jr. Gamma Phi for four years. He is passionate about helping young performers grow their skills, confidence, and discover the joy of circus acts.
Director of ISU's Gamma Phi Circus
We are fortunate to have Marcus at our practices to help ensure safety through regular equipment checks, training of coaches, and coaching of select acts.
Jr. Gamma Phi is coached by a group of full-time ISU student staff and volunteers who are also performers in ISU's Gamma Phi Circus.
Jr. Gamma Phi alumni are always welcome back to help coach and/or serve as assist directors in show planning. U-High students develop leadership skills as they earn volunteer hours.
