Expression of interest on a 2-year Post-doctoral research fellowship on bias correction and uncertainties estimation

There is soon an opening of a 2-years PostDoc position at the University School for Advanced Studies (IUSS) in Pavia (Italy) on bias correction and uncertainties estimation. Project descriptionCoPe project aims the to create a validated and reliable dataset of Convection-Permitting Models (CPM) simulations over Italy, for both past and for future time slices, which can therefore be used as basis for the development of climate impact indices in support of effective adaptation strategies. In particular, within CoPe an ensemble of CPMs will be compared to observations, high-resolution reanalysis products and the driving Regional Climate Models (RCMs) in terms of intense precipitation, temperature and wind. To serve as input into impact models, simulation will need to be bias-corrected. The bias-correction methods will span from the standard quantile mapping and equidistant cumulative distribution function to machine learning techniques. Special focus will lie on approaches that take into account the role of orography and the non-stationarity of the biases in the climate change context.  

Candidate profile

 The successful candidate will be a researcher with interdisciplinary interests and a background in climate modelling and/or statistical analysis with large datasets. A good experience in machine learning and/or bias correction, statistics and probabilistic, along with good programming skills would be required. Experience with CPM, analysis of the climate change signals, wind and temperature time histories, and uncertainties will be an added value. Research abilities demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications on highly ranked international journals are desirable. 

 

The successful candidate will be based at the CARISMA research centre of the University School for Advance Studies (IUSS) in Pavia (Italy). He/She is expected to collaborate with the research team and actively participate to bi-weekly and monthly meetings supported by presentations and open discussions. 

 

What can they offer at IUSS?

Salary of up to 2,000 € net a month (in depending on the level of expertise) one year contract with the possibility of an extension for an additional year Multi-disciplinary and diverse working environment. 

 

The CARISMA centre coordinates all the disciplinary profiles present in the IUSS which relate to the issues of climate change and sustainable development. The main research activities of CARISMA are: the evaluation of possible evolutions of the climate and the effects of climate change and climate variability on natural ecosystems and human socio-economic organisations, in support of sustainable development; the integration of climate change into risk analysis and management, through the use of climate observation and modelling; the development of integrated methodologies to support the overall analysis of the risk associated with complex phenomena of natural and technological origin, including in combination (multi-hazard risk assessment). The CARISMA group is characterized by a strongly multi- and interdisciplinary approach: the scientific profiles range from physics, to engineering and economics.

Tasks

• Support the development and improvement of tools for meteorological risk monitoring, early warning systems, and database development, including various sub-sector early warning systems (EWS) of FAO (e.g., locust, animal health) that use weather information;

• Develop a guide for translation of hydrometeorological hazards into risk information in food and agriculture sectors for effective EWS and actions;

• Assist countries with gap analyses in agrometeorological capacities, in terms of observations, e.g., weather station and remote sensing, and technical capacities such as the production of agrometeorological bulletins from forecasts and agronomic information;

• Assist countries with weather monitoring, combining different information sources, and with the use of forecasts for decision-making in the agrifood systems;

• Assist countries with strengthening agrometeorological advisory capacities, and impact-based forecasting;

• Assist countries with developing, validating, and calibrating anticipatory action trigger systems for meteorological hazards;

• Support normative guidance work on anticipatory action triggers, and the development of trigger tools;

• Support capacity development activities on the technical topics;

• Provide technical backstopping to field projects to support local activities on the technical topics.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in meteorology or closely related field

• At least five years of relevant experience related to meteorology and applied meteorology.

• Knowledge and experience in developing and/or operating medium- to long-range weather forecasts (week, sub-seasonal, to seasonal timescales), and/or early warning services (e.g., drought, flood, cyclone).

• Advanced knowledge of English, i.e., demonstrated writing, coordination and communication skills, is required.

• Limited knowledge (Level B) of one of the other FAO languages would be an asset.

• Experience working with preparing reports and presenting information visually.

• Good organizational and planning skills and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

• Experience in preparing technical reports.

• Experience in agrometeorological activities, i.e., applying forecasts and EW in the agriculture sector, would be an asset.

• Experience in developing countries, especially in countries that are vulnerable to disaster or other emergency risks, would be an asset.

Hybrid workshop planned for October 11-13 in Oslo

Workshop on consolidation downscaling for the provision of regional climate information to society - Cordex Consolidate (ConCord). Venue: Kulturhuset.  The main objectives of this workshop are to promote a (1) reconciliation of GCMs, RCMs, ESD and historical observations/reanalyses for better information and robust future climate outlooks and climate change adaptation; (2) help the CORDEX community to lower the threshold for the use of climate information that is embedded in the data that it produces; (3) help the CORDEX community to understand what information really is needed and how it’s used. One means of achieving these is through discussion about principles for consolidating downscaled information in decision-making/climate services/climate change adaptation. Also, we may bring in know-how on how to involve statistics. The workshop will collaborate with the Norwegian Public Health Institute and climate services to foster co-production of knowledge when it comes to climate-health issues and for the provision of robust actionable information.

CORDEX simulations status

More on https://wcrp-cordex.github.io/simulation-status/, but mainly concerns dynamical downscaling (RCMs). Note that empirical-statistical downscaling (ESD) is not really appropriate for the CORDEX domains which have been set up for RCM simulations, and ESD is well-suited for entire CMIP ensembles. When downscaled climate results are used for climate change adaptation, it's important to includeboth RCMs and ESD as they are based on different assumptions and come with different strengths and limitations independent of each other.

Postdoctoral Opportunity in ICTP, Trieste Italy - high resolution regional climate modelling, coupled regional earth system modelling, hydroclimate modelling and machine learning algorithm

The Earth System Physics (ESP, https://www.ictp.it/research/esp.aspx) section seeks applications for two postdoctoral positions  in the broad areas of high resolution regional climate modelling, coupled regional earth system modelling, hydroclimate modelling and machine learning algorithm applied to climate data analysis. One of the two postdoctoral positions will be under the framework of the H2020 XAIDA (eXtreme events: Artificial Intelligence for Detection and Attribution) project (https://xaida.eu/). 


Candidates must have completed a PhD in atmospheric science, geophysical science or related disciplines prior to the start of their fellowship and have experience in the research areas mentioned above.

(1) The Rossby Center at SMHI is now looking for a motivated senior researcher with scientific expertise in weather or climate, with the willingness to create research applications and the ability to take the lead (no personnel responsibility) of a research group on the development of SMHI's regional climate model "HCLIM" and its use. Together with other employees, the new researcher will produce the next generation of regional climate calculations with convection-permitting resolution for use on a regional and local scale.

(2) The Rossby Center at SMHI is now looking for a skilled programmer with the ability to learn climatological data standards and its handling in powerful computer systems. Please consider submitting an abstract to the EMS Annual Meeting session UP3.5 on "Coupled Convection-Permitting Earth System Modeling".


This session covers a broad range of interdisciplinary topics. We welcome contributions on advances in high-resolution Earth system modeling from weather prediction to climate time scales, including human interventions such as human water use or land-use change as well as computational and big data approaches. Applications and analyses of ESMs are also invited, e.g., from the climate services, from impact modeling, with regard to added value of convection-permitting resolution, or land-atmosphere exchange. We'd like to collate perspectives from the hydrometeorologic, biogeochemical, impact modeling, and computational communities, to stimulate discussions on future scientific and technological leaps as a basis for next-generation weather and climate products and services.

As part of the EURO-FRIEND project 3 on "Large Scale Variations in Hydrological Characteristics", we will be running a workshop/training series between April and December 2022. Once a month, we will be proposing either a seminar or training on the use of new datasets, methodologies, or new results in the field. These seminars/training will be open to everyone and will be free of charge.

 

We hope that this initiative can encourage more early-career scientists to join our initiative and enhance the collaboration between the FRIEND community across the world.

About this seminar...

Global change is constantly raising the demands on available water resources. Satellite-based remote sensing of water-related parameters and operational data-assimilation services are becoming increasingly important to assess changes in the global water cycle as part of the essential climate variables (gcos.wmo.int). However, particularly over land or in the deep ocean where space-borne monitoring is not possible, in-situ data provide long-term records of changes in the various components of the hydrological cycle.

Global data centres often operating under the auspices of UN agencies, collect and harmonise water data worldwide and make the global data sets available to the public again. Most of these relevant Global Data Centres, inter alia the Global Runoff Data Centre (GRDC) or the International Soil Moisture Network (ISMN) are members of the Global Terrestrial Network of Hydrology (GTN-H) that operates under auspices of WMO and the Terrestrial observation Panel of Climate (TOPC) of the Global Climate Observing System GCOS. GTN-H links existing networks and systems for integrated observations of the global water cycle.

The presentation aims to:

* demonstrate capabilities of global water data centres;

* provide information on the latest assessment of observations of the water cycle;

* and to discuss how to start a dialogue between the FRIEND-Water community and monitoring and database system managers on the needs and state of the art to promote research and improve data services.

The presentation will therefore cover the current state of the art in in-situ monitoring of global terrestrial water resources and paint a picture of a global water monitoring architecture.

We are excited to open the submissions for abstracts for the ‘6th edition of the Convection-Permitting Climate Modeling Workshop’, which will be held in Buenos Aires city, Argentina on September 7-9th 2022.

The workshop is an open forum to discuss the benefits, added value, scientific advancements, and social benefits of regional and global convection-permitting weather and climate models. It also encompasses the discussions of the latest trends in model development, such as the use of new HPC paradigms such as leveraging GPU/ARM processors, new coding methodologies and languages, novel model developments, and hardware requirements. It will feature keynote presentations by leading scientists in the field, oral and poster presentations, breakout discussions, and side events for community building.

More than 20 exciting PhD and PostDoc positions are currently open on multiple topics in the broader realm of regional climate change and Earth system modelling in the newly established Collaborative Research Centre (CRC1502) DETECT at the University of Bonn with project partners Research Centre Juelich, German Weather Service, University of Cologne, and University of Goettingen through funding by the German Research Foundation (DFG).


The DETECT project will disentangle the role of land use change and water management in the context of regional climate change. It is hypothesized that – next to known local effects – human land management, land and water use changes have altered the regional atmospheric circulation and related water transports, and these changes in the water balance’s spatial patterns have created and amplified imbalances that lead to excessive drying or wetting in more remote regions. Session description:

The Earth system involves interactions of atmosphere, ocean, and land. These interactions affect energy, water, and carbon cycles, and thus the biosphere. Understanding the underlying processes of the interactions and quantifying the fluxes across different elements of the Earth's system are of fundamental importance to human society. Satellite measurements allow us to observe different elements of the integrated Earth system, greatly increasing the capabilities to conduct interdisciplinary research. Sustaining and enhancing space-based integrated observing system for the Earth system is essential for the development of Earth System model, analysis, and prediction systems, which has important implications for the ability to project future climate change.

This session encourages contributions that emphasize the linkages of the atmosphere, ocean, and/or land based on satellite observations or in conjunction with models. The objectives are to foster interdisciplinary collaborations and to advocate for the need to sustain and enhance remote sensing capabilities to observe the integrated Earth system.

In this winter school, students will be introduced to the analysis of climate variability from years to millennia as recorded from instrumental data, historical documents and proxy data such as tree ring data or sediment cores. The focus will be on the climate of the Baltic Sea region but an overview on global climate variability and processes in the atmosphere, ocean, sea-ice and land surface relevant for the climate system will be introduced as well, and both statistical methods and numerical modeling are used. Methods for the detection of systematic changes in climate and for the attribution of drivers to these changes will be presented and discussed. The course will introduce fundamentals of statistics, time series analysis, multivariate data analysis, uncertainty analysis in statistical methods and strategies of statistical analysis.

The preparation of the next ICRC-CORDEX conference has just started and to ensure an effective process we need to set up a scientific committee and an overall organizing committee.

The conference will take place during 2023, tentatively late spring/early summer, and will probably be in a hybrid format, possibly featuring regional hubs, with both in-person and remote/on-line participation.

CORDEX aims to develop and provide detailed, regional climate information necessary for vulnerability, impact and adaptation studies at local and regional levels. CORDEX is working to meet the increasing need for reliable regional climate information communicated in a manner enabling effective impact and adaptation planning.

Some of the topics that will be highlighted at the next International Conference on Regional Climate (ICRC)- CORDEX will be extracted from the CORDEX White Papers and Science Plan, including further development of regional climate as well as impacts and applications.

The conference will also provide a platform for scientists and users from all parts of the globe to meet and advance capacity development, training and knowledge exchange as well as to build new and enhance existing co-operations.

The scientific committee will be tasked with proposing the main theme as well as details of the conference program; sessions, important partners/speakers, side events and more – all in close cooperation with the organizing committee.

The organizing committee will be in charge of the administration such as settling venue(s), handling website and registrations, contact with participants and speakers and close cooperation with the scientific committee.

Position Descriptions and Responsibilities:

Applications are sought for a Post Doctoral Associate to join a vibrant research team focused on performing and analyzing high resolution simulations with the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF). The successful candidate will participate in research applying WRF to address research questions in the realms of climate dynamics, land use land cover change and wind energy applications. A particular focus will be on innovative methods to perform diagnostic evaluation of model performance and skill. 

 

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, engineering or related subject. Experience with high-performance computing environments and programming in Fortran and/or Matlab is required. Experience with the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF) and analysis of WRF output is also required. Familiarity with statistics and model fidelity assessment is highly desirable.

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience. 

 

Specific responsibilities (and approximate effort allocation) include:

(70%) Conduct and evaluate numerical simulations using WRF.

(20%) Develop publication-quality research manuscripts.

(10%) Data archiving using best-practice data provenance procedures.

New postdoc positions

There are two postdoc position available at the UNSW Climate Change Research Centre (CCRC) in Sydney Australia. The CCRC is a multi-disciplinary climate research centre comprising one of the largest university research facilities of its kind in Australia.


Postdoc 1: The Research Associate will work on an ARC-funded project to characterise extreme wind gusts in Australia. This project seeks to better understand and predict wind gusts and their impacts to aid in planning. The Research Associate will help address these questions by examining meteorological data and regional climate simulations, and/or by conducting a variety of regional and local-scale numerical weather simulations to improve our understanding of gust generation and impacts.

Baltic Earth Summer School Application Deadline extended to 23 May 2021

Deadline extended the application for 7th International Summer School on Climate of the Baltic Sea region23 - 30 August 2021, co-organized by Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW), University of Rostock and the International Baltic Earth Secretariat at Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG) under the umbrella of Baltic Earth.

For the seventh time, they offer an international Summer School on the beautiful island of Askö in the Swedish skerries south of Stockholm, a unique social and learning experience. They currently assume and prepare for an on-site Summer School on Askö, like in the previous years except 2020. In the event that the course cannot be given on Askö, they will divert to the online format which was carried out succesfully in 2020.


The School is open to undergraduate students in geosciences such as climate science, meteorology, oceanography and hydrology and associated fields. Please forward this information to any students you feel that this may be interesting for.

The public will be fellow students and supervisors. Employees at NVE and MET Norway are also invited to attend the seminar. The aim is to gain an insight into topics addressed in masters and PhD theses, and we hope that the seminar can inspire both discussions and collaboration.

RifS Open Call Interim Coordination Group: nomination form for communities outside WCRP

THe World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) has developed a strategic plan 2019-2028 and new structure for the next decade, reflecting its evolution from 40 years of successful fundamental climate research. It is thus preparing to meet an era with an urgent need of solutions to climate challenges and to address the impacts of climate change on society and all life on Earth.


In this regard, a new element is taken form, a new “Home” for expertise on “Regional Information for Society (RifS)”. The purpose of RifS will be to address WCRP's 4th scientific goal: Bridging Science with Society. 


The RifS Home is planned to develop as a platform/meeting place, where different topics, scientific questions, case studies, etc. can bring together the pertinent expertise, elements and partners within and outside the WCRP. This open meeting place will provide flexibility and interdisciplinarity, allowing the participation of a variety of communities for exploratory dialogues. The knowledge and information generated in RifS would then reach society, and feed back to the participating communities, ensuring a two-way communication. To achieve this, an Interim Coordination Group (ICG) will be assembled to coordinate the preparation of the RifS science plan, governance and roadmap for its implementation in the new WCRP. It is anticipated that the ICG will function until the end of 2021. 


Below the selection criteria for ICG:

• Comprise up to 15 people in total

• Ensure diversity regarding geography, gender, career stage, discipline &amp; expertise and links with the WCRP activities

• These are some of the disciplines, expertise and communities that we would like to have on board the ICG (with the emphasis for now on the communities and organisations with which WCRP already has some linkages):

Dear EURO-CORDEX modellers,

please find below the (long awaited) registration email for the EURO-CORDEX General Assembly 2021. We (EURO-CORDEX POCs) discussed the agenda and the aim of the EURO-CORDEX General Assembly and adapted it to the virtual format and the new challenges ahead.

== Background ==

We are not only facing challenges due to the virtual format, but also due to the major changes which are going on WCRP. Finally WCRP is putting much more emphasis on regional activities and regional climate change AND WCRP is opening up to deliver science FOR society! This is all good news. But with this CORDEX is in the center of interest and advice is expected from us, when it comes to bring the 4th challenge from the WCRP strategic plan to life.

The idea to develop a new WCRP home for research on ‘regional information for society, RIfS’ shaped more and more during the last quarter of 2020 and now it is up to us to clarify what this means for CORDEX and how CORDEX can shape this home. Since RIfS will have a strong focus on downscaling, distillation and science-society dialogues EURO-Cordex is perfectly positioned to support and guide the discussion. We do have our 3 pillars which are active since a few years and can be seen as a blue-print for a structure in RIfS. Therefore we are organising our GA around the three pillars and review what has happened in each of them during the last years, assess if this is a good structure or if it did not work.

== Organization of the GA ==

We are also planning to strengthen the role of the EURO-CORDEX pillars. We thus suggest to present the scientific contributions in the context of the pillars and give room for presentation of pillar activities. Finally, the discussions will result in our EURO-CORDEX contribution to the WCRP activities, especially the RIfS (Regional Information for Society) home. The presentations should be "working-style", where real discussions about ongoing research are needed. "EGU-style" presentations can be held at EGU and would be briefly covered in the pillar reports. Additionally, we propose to have a scientific discussion every four weeks in EURO-CORDEX: the new EURO-CORDEX virtual seminars! This suggestion will be further discussed at the GA. The agenda draft, which considers all this is attached to this email. It includes the latest figure of the EURO-CORDEX structure just as a reminder.

A 2-year postdoctoral fellowship position (with a possibility for extension) is available in the research topic of multi-ESMs process-based assessment and benchmark for regional downscaling at the biogeochemistry group of NORCE Climate and the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research. The Bjerknes Centre is the largest climate research centre in the Scandinavian countries and among the leading centres in Europe.


We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated climate scientist to work in the newly funded project CE2COAST (Downscaling Climate and Ocean Change to Services). 2nd Baltic Earth Winter school 

2nd International Winter School on Analysis of Climate Variability 17 - 26 March 2021 (online, excl. weekend) co-organized by Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW), University of Rostock and the International Baltic Earth Secretariat at Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG) under the umbrella of Baltic Earth Students will be introduced to the analysis of climate variability from years to millennia as recorded from instrumental data, historical documents and proxy data such as tree ring data or sediment cores. The focus will be on the climate of the Baltic Sea region but an overview on global climate variability and processes in the atmosphere, ocean, sea-ice and land surface relevant for the climate system will be introduced as well. For the analysis of climate variability, both statistical methods and numerical modeling are used. Methods for the detection of systematic changes in climate and for the attribution of drivers to these changes will be presented and discussed. The course will introduce fundamentals of statistics, time series analysis, multivariate data analysis, uncertainty analysis in statistical methods and strategies of statistical analysis.

The School is open to undergraduate students in geosciences such as climate science, meteorology, oceanography and hydrology and associated fields.

'African Rainfall Project: High resolution numerical weather simulations on the World Community Grid'

In sub-Saharan Africa, 95 percent of agriculture depends on rainfall, which makes accurate weather forecasts absolutely crucial. However, because rainfall in this area is often localized—sometimes almost at the level of one farm—it's difficult to forecast accurately with satellite data, which mainly show larger weather patterns. In order to resolve convective rainstorms, high resolution numerical weather models are needed at, say, 1km scale. It is, however, very difficult to run such models at continental scale.

The World Community Grid (WCG, https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/) is part of IBM’s social corporate responsibility program. WCG organizes scientific challenges, during which computationally intensive problems are tackled by using idle CPU cycles on computers of volunteers. BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is used to distribute the tasks over thousands of machines.

In 2019, the African Rainfall Project was started on the WCG (https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/arp1/overview.do). WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting Model) was used as numerical weather model. Preparing BOINC for such a relatively large program with large input and output files, was a difficult task, undertaken by IBM programmers and software engineers. The smallest domain used is 50km x 50km, and is run at a 1km resolution. This is run in a nested way within a larger domain of 156km x 156 km (3km resolution), which runs inside the largest domain of 468km x 468km. Not all output is collected but still a total of 0.5 PB will be available at the end of the project, that seeks to simulate one full year.

An interesting science question is if what the difference would be between one large integrated simulation and these many parallel simulations. In order to examine this, large scale (500km x 1000km) simulations were run at 1km resolution in a high-performance computational environment for a brief period. The comparison between the two approaches will be presented, together with comparison with ground measurements from the TAHMO network (www.tahmo.org).

(c) have access to a large collection of software libraries commonly used to analyse climate model output.

Self-nominations welcome for WCRP Lighthouse Activities and Regional Consultations

WCRP is performing several consultations as part of its new WCRP implementation plan, and the input from its modeling and data groups is essential.  

Councils Co-chairs have been requested by the JSC to provide: 

1) nominees to be part of the task teams that will develop the proposed Lighthouse Activities (LHA) science plans.

We are seeking (self-)nominations from our modeling and data community members to join the teams charged with developing the respective full Lighthouse Activity Science Plans. There are five LHA ready to advance to this step, which means we need to nominate up to 10 from our community to support this task (i.e. 2 per Lighthouse). We are in particular looking for under represented groups and early/mid career scientists!!

Please send your nomination to M. Rixen (mrixen@wmo.int) by 31st August, 2020 and provide a short paragraph explaining the rationale for your nomination and include your name, the LHA you are interested in, home nation, and if you are an Early or Mid-Career researcher.

The attached Discussion Note provides an overview and description of the Regional Consultations; i.e. their purpose, audience, mode, and approach. Briefly, our goal is to engage, through these regional consultations, with the WCRP community, partners, stakeholders as well as the wider climate science communities in ways that was not possible during the previous small meetings. We will use these discussions to explain the WCRP Strategy, implementation plan and process, proposed draft structure, and new proposed science activities. This engagement will be done via a series of Virtual Townhall (VTH) meetings around the world – this is what is referred to as Regional Consultations.  

To make these happen, we seek volunteers or (self-)nominees to act as Regional Focal Points (RFP) for each of the Regions listed in the table below (we are hoping for 2 – 3 per Region). The task for these RFPs is to form a “local organising committee” for each Region, drawing on WCRP and other networks, and work with this committee to roll out the Regional Consultation. The WCRP can provide administrative and logistic support via our WCRP Secretariat (Beatriz from CORA will be supporting them in this task) and our International Project Offices.

The aim is to roll these out according to the approximate timeline in the Table on the left.

New deadlines for IPCC WGI

The cut-off deadline for datasets included in the AR6 Working Group I report is the same deadline as the literature acceptance deadline. The deadline has been postponed from 30 September 2020 to 31 January 2021 as part of an overall adjustment to the WGI timeline implemented after a broad consultation with authors, the broader community and editors of journals on the implications of COVID-19.

 

The 30th September 2020 nonetheless remains as a “soft” or “intermediate” cut-off date ahead of the final deadline on 31st January 2021.

 

Please note:

·         Upload prior to the final literature and dataset cut-off deadline is a necessary but not sufficient criterion for inclusion in the assessment.. 

·         The earlier datasets are published prior to the deadline, the greater the chances are for inclusion. There are no guarantees for inclusion in the assessment.

·         For data uploaded earlier than 30th September 2020 or by that date, there is a high chance that it can be included in the report, if relevant.

·         Submission of datasets prior to the 30th September 2020 is not a prerequisite for inclusion in the assessment. Datasets uploaded later than then, but in time for the cut-off date, may be included in the assessment if feasible.
