Grade Basics

1) Teachers must have 12 grades in the gradebook by the end of every quarter.

2) Teachers need to put in 3 grades per progress report period.

3) No single grade can be worth more than 20%.

4) Students with excessive attendance should not be passing unless their absences are excused for extenuating purposes.

5) Teachers must keep a parent contact log as you go just in case you need to provide documentation.

6) Overall failure rates 20% or above will require a Student Instructional Support Plan.

Eligibility

1) Students can lose or gain eligibility for UIL sports and activities throughout the year. Date are below and exempt courses are linked here.

2) Teachers have one week after the progress report date to correct any grades. Corrections for eligibility can only be made if it is truly "teacher error." If the student makes up work after the progress report, they can still improve their quarter grade, but their progress report grade will not be changed. Please see the UIL rules for any other questions.
